Is Thinkorswim commission-free?

Thinkorswim’s platform offers trading in more than 70 unique currency pairs, some of which are commission-free (those that do not contain the “#” symbol) and as a result have wider spreads. FX trades that do incur a commission are traded in increments of 1,000 units, and the commission for these trades is $0.10 per 1,000 units (with a $1 minimum).

How much does Thinkorswim charge for options trades?

For options trades, Thinkorswim charges a standard commission of $0 per trade plus an additional $0.65/per contract. For multi-legged options trades you will still only be charged a single standard commission of $0 and the $0.65 per contract fee applies to each contract of each leg. Thinkorswim charges NO options exercise and assignment fees.

How do TOS commissions work?

They seem to base what they’ll drop to on some combination of account size, trading volume, and competition from other brokerages. Note that generally TOS commissions include exchange fees, so if you are trading single listed options like SPX or VIX, you will be saving up to .65 per contract vs brokers such as IB, which pass them on.

What is Thinkorswim and how does it work?

For its target audience thinkorswim offers an enormous range of choices. Unlike many high-sophistication trading platforms it offers a vast array of both technical and fundamental analysis, allowing you to review not only the movements of a given asset but also the news information about the companies behind those securities.
